Lightweight power unleashed.

The lightest 50HP 4-stroke available on the market, this engine powers many pontoons, aluminum fishing boats and bay boats. Exclusive features like autostart enrichment insure easy starts, quick warmup, and superior low speed trolling capability. And because it's a Honda, you can expect long-term durability and clean, quiet operation.

Honda is also the choice of many fishing Pros like Ted Beskow, veteran of the Professional Walleye Trail and Masters Walleye circuit.

If you're looking for smooth trolling and light, easy handling, Honda's 50HP is your engine.

Packing maximum power and easy handling into a lightweight and compact design, Honda Marine’s BF50 is ideal for pontoon, shallow-draft walleye and bass boats.

The engine’s Auto Start Enrichment System ensures a quick and easy start, while the 3-to-3 induction system affords outstanding fuel economy in all conditions. And weighing in at 205 lbs., the BF50 is the lightest 50hp four-stroke outboard anywhere.

The BF50 from Honda Marine…lightweight power unleashed.

4-Stroke Design: World-renowned Honda quality combines proven reliability and superior fuel efficiency, with no oil mixing.

Center Mount Tiller: A new ergonomically designed tiller handle is 8 in. longer and angled 5 in. higher for improved handling. A front-mounted shift lever, power tilt and trim switch, and engine alert lamps provide added convenience.

Power Trim/Tilt: Allows user to trim the unit for maximum performance and handling. Trim Range: - 4° to +12°, Tilt Range: 67°

3 to 3 Induction: A compact 3-cylinder, 3-carburetor design utilizes one carburetor per cylinder. More responsive than competitive throttle bodies with long intake runners, the design provides smooth, quiet operation, along with instant throttle response and performance.

Offset Crankshaft Design: The BF50’s exclusive crankshaft design locates the powerhead directly over the transom pivot point to reduce vibration and improve performance and handling.

Lightweight 50HP: The lightest 50HP 4-stroke available on the market. Perfect for pontoons, aluminum fishing boats and the increasing bay boat markets.

PGM Ignition: A reliable microprocessor accurately controls ignition timing during start-up and across the entire RPM range, providing optimum overall operation.

Auto Start Enrichment (ASE): Just like a fuel injection system, Auto Start Enrichment automatically adjusts the air-fuel mixture for quick, easy starting and warm-ups.

Non-Linear Mounting System: Patented non-linear rubber mounts provide smoother operation at all engine speeds.

Positive Lubrication: A crankshaft-driven, automotive-style trochoid oil pump ensures long-term durability of critical engine components.

Engine Alert System: Audio and visual cues combine with RPM reduction circuits to alert the operator of overheating, low oil PSI and over-revving to prevent engine damage.

3 Inlet Cooling: Provides plenty of water to maintain optimum engine temperature in all conditions.

Forced Air Ventilation: Unique air intake on the top of the cowl allows cooler air to enter and warmer air to escape. The ventilation system reduces under-the-hood operating temperature, improving performance and long-term durability of the electrical components.

High Output Charging System: The BF50’s 10 amp charging system ensures that batteries remain charged.

Corrosion Protection System: A patented, "Double Sealed" multi-layered paint process. Sacrificial anodes and stainless steel technology, along with waterproof connectors, all enhance corrosion protection.

Fresh Water Flushport: Flushes debris and saltwater out of the engine, extending the life of the outboard.

Easy Maintenance: Front-mounted oil filter and oil fillers simplify maintenance, while "screw-type" valve adjusters reduce maintenance costs.

Built-In Pitot Tube: Built-in pitot tube in the gear case eliminates the need to drill holes in your boat for installation.

Gas Assist Tilt: A gas-filled cylinder makes it easy to tilt the engine for running in shallow water, or to raise it completely out of the water for protection.

Ultra Low 3 Star Carb Emissions: Environmentally friendly technology.
